Vietnam will receive key investments to improve cybersecurity capacity, in the context of many challenges from cybercrime.

Global cybersecurity and data security company Kaspersky has just announced key investments and strategic initiatives to enhance its presence in the Vietnamese market, as well as contribute to the development of the local digital economy.

Mr. Ngo Tan Vu Khanh - Country Director of Kaspersky Vietnam - emphasized that strengthening cybersecurity capacity in the Vietnamese market is one of the unit's strategies.

To make Vietnam a cybersecurity power, two important factors are needed, which are people and building and training teams to create products with Vietnamese brands. These products not only serve the community in Vietnam but also have to reach the world and Vietnamese people no longer have to use foreign products, said Mr. Khanh.

To implement this, this cybersecurity company has signed a contract with the People's Security Academy to promote research, training and improve professional capacity in the field of information security. The two units also jointly built a Cyber Security Practice and Control room; malware Analysis Center, as well as accompanied the development of a high-level cybersecurity personnel team.

In addition, the unit also cooperates with iSpace College, localities... to organize in-depth training programs, seminars and practice programs, providing documents for parties to update knowledge about new trends and threats.

Kaspersky cybersecurity experts also emphasized the risk of cybersecurity in Vietnam, especially in the context of the increasing trend of using AI (artificial intelligence). According to the unit's data, in the first half of 2025, there were more than 301,880 vulnerable exploitation attacks targeting businesses in Vietnam, with an average of about 1,600 cases per day.

In addition, the unit also recorded more than 1.1 million online threats. Not only limited to online activities, this threat can also be harmful at any stage of the process of using the Internet.

To protect themselves and avoid cyber attacks, Kaspersky experts recommend protecting personal data and not sharing much information during the use of AI. In addition, users also have to regularly update security programs, change passwords regularly...
