On August 16 and 17, FPT University Can Tho branch organized the Workshop " STEM/STEAM Education and Digital Transformation in High School Education".
Participating were Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tang - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong - Vice Principal of FPT University, Director of FPT University Branch in Can Tho City; Mr. Tran Thanh Danh - Deputy Director of the Office of the FPT Education Bloc in Can Tho.
The event attracted more than 200 Board of Directors teachers, teachers and educational experts from high schools in the Mekong Delta region.
With the topic "Digital transformation in high school education management", Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh - Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences" focused on analyzing the role of digital transformation in modernizing management, digital transformation policies in education, building centralized data systems and innovating teaching methods.
According to Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, digital transformation requires fundamental solutions and a sustainable roadmap. This requires schools to have serious investment and a long-term vision.
Meanwhile, the topic " STEM education trends and policies in the context of the 2018 General Education program" shared by MSc. Le Ngoc Tuan - Director of FPT Education Technology Experience, FPT Group - pointed out the role of STEM/STEAM in shaping critical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity for students.
The speakers also shared the practical application of technology in teaching at the FPT Education Block, and at the same time, proposed solutions such as in-depth training, organizing learning projects associated with practice and promoting cooperation between schools and technology enterprises.
At the question and answer session of the workshop, the participants raised many questions focusing on appropriate STEM implementation solutions, a prerequisite for success in digital transformation, as well as difficulties in applying technology in teaching and learning. Speakers answered frankly and shared practical experiences from many successfully implemented models.
Closing the workshop, many teachers assessed this as a useful connection forum, where high schools have the opportunity to meet, cooperate and jointly build a modern education model. The workshop also brought many practical orientations, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning in high schools.
