Currently, that title belongs to Oppo Find N5 - a high-end smartphone launched earlier this year. The Find N5 is 8.93mm thick when folded, no thicker than a regular phone, and weighs only 229g.
However, Honor is likely to dethrone Oppo as the world's thinnest foldable smartphone. Honor has shared a new introduction to the Honor Magic V5, highlighting the device as the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, with a thickness of only 8.8mm.
Honor Magic V5 will launch in China on July 2. Currently, consumers in China can order this product on e-commerce platforms with 3 options for RAM and storage: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB.

In addition to the thin design, another aspect that Honor can beat Oppo's Find N5 is the battery. Magic V5 can use a large 6100mAh battery. It will likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and the AiMAGE image system. In addition, the upcoming high-end smartphone model also includes a fingerprint sensor attached to the hips to unlock, a 3x optical zoomtive lens and a weight of 217 grams.
The Honor Magic V5 is considered a major upgrade compared to the Magic V3 model - which is 9.2mm thick when folded. It also promises to bring productivity surpassing personal computers in a thin, mobile design.
The launch of Honor Magic V5 also poses a direct challenge for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 model.
