When you discover that your account has unusual signs such as changing your password, having strange activities, sending messages of unknown origin or being accessed by strangers, it is very likely that your account is being attacked. In this case, the first thing you need to do is temporarily lock your account to prevent bad guys from taking advantage of your personal information.
Immediate disconnection
If you are using an account on your phone or computer, temporarily turn off the network connection or turn off the device to prevent unauthorized access.
Log in from a secure device and change your password
Use another device you trust (updated and has anti-viruses), log into your account and change your password immediately. The new password should be strong, combining letters, consonants, numbers and special characters.
Exit from all devices
Most platforms ( Google, Facebook, Zalo, TikTok...) allow you to log in from all devices you have logged in to. This is a very important step to prevent illegal access from hackers.
Two-layer security activation (2FA)
After changing your password, immediately turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) to enhance protection. This feature requires a verification code from your phone every time you log in, reducing the risk of being attacked again.
Report the incident and temporarily close the account (if necessary)
If you cannot control your account or are afraid that your information has been leaked, report to your service provider ( Google, Facebook, bank, etc.) to request a temporary lock or disability of your account. Each platform has an emergency support section for hacked people.
