Apple is said to be about to launch a completely new Siri version on iOS 27, with deeper personalization capabilities. This assistant can understand the user's personal context, recognize content displayed on the screen and deeply control each application.
At WWDC 2024, Apple once illustrated how users ask Siri about flights or lunch plans, based on data from Mail and Messages. On iOS 27, these capabilities are expected to be completed.
Notably, Siri can be separated into a separate application, integrating chatbots and storing conversation history. Users can also access third-party chatbots such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude through the "Extension Utility" feature.
Apple and Google previously announced a partnership, under which Gemini will contribute to operating AI models in the Apple Intelligence ecosystem, including the new Siri. iOS 27 is expected to expand Apple Intelligence to more applications, including Calendar.
Regarding connectivity, iOS 27 may support 5G satellite internet, but is likely limited to iPhone 18 Pro models using new generation C2 modems. In addition, Apple is rumored to add satellite map features and send and receive photos via Messages when there is no mobile signal.
Instead of major interface changes, Apple focuses on improving quality and performance, similar to how macOS Snow Leopard used to do. Upgrades will include bug fixes, increased stability and refined Liquid Glass design.
