Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Le Huy Hoang - Director of Viettel Dien Bien - said that 5G coverage in the Muong Thanh basin area (including Dien Bien Phu city and part of Dien Bien district) is a big step forward, giving people and tourists the opportunity to access modern technology, serving work and entertainment.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, 5G waves will cover all district and town centers in the province. Thereby contributing to narrowing the digital gap and promoting local socio-economic development.
Currently, customers in Dien Bien province can experience 5G waves at 3 locations: Viettel Building, Viettel Store (Tan Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City) and 1st floor of Vincom Plaza Dien Bien Phu.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Viettel's 5G network has now covered some areas in the Muong Thanh basin, such as: Dien Bien district (Thanh Xuong and Thanh Luong communes); Dien Bien Phu city (Nam Thanh, Noong Bua, Him Lam, Thanh Truong, Tan Thanh, Muong Thanh and Thanh Binh wards).
Ms. Bui Thi Van - Him Lam Ward, Dien Bien Phu City - said: "The data download speed of 5G waves is surprisingly fast, especially when watching 4K videos. Fast-forwarding videos on the 5G network is smooth, without any lag like when using 3G, 4G networks".
On the morning of October 15 in Hanoi, Viettel officially launched its 5G network. This is an event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of officially operating mobile services and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
