Meta is starting to deploy Conversation Focus, a new feature introduced at the Meta Connect event in September, for its smart glasses.
This feature helps amplify the voice of the other person, helping users hear better when talking in crowded or noisy environments.
According to Meta, when enabled, the voice will have a brighter tone, helping to distinguish conversation from surrounding noise. Users can turn Conversation Focus on with voice commands like Hey Meta, start Conversation Focus or set it to a touch and hold switch on the glass.
Along with that, Meta also added a multi-modal AI feature to Spotify. Users can request a music player that is suitable for the scene they are viewing. Spotify will create playlists based on individual music tastes and specific context, for example, seeing holiday decorations will suggest a playlist according to the corresponding theme.
Meta is not yet clear how the system handles more abstract settings or concepts to turn music playlists.
The above features are being released to Meta Ray-Ban (Gen 1 and Gen 2) and Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, first for users in the early access program, then gradually expanded.
In addition, the new Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses have the ability to activate single-word commands, without the need to say Hey Meta. For example, just say photo to take a photo or video to film, to help users, especially athletes, operate faster while exercising.
