Apple has just introduced new devices equipped with the M5 chip, including iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and Vision Pro. All three have some improvements, but not major upgrades as their predecessors launched just a year ago.
However, the latest rumors suggest that Apple's next wave of products will focus on less-refined devices including the Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, AirTag 2, and the new generation Studio Display screen.
These four products have gone through a long wait since the last upgrade: Apple TV 4K 3 years ago; HomePod mini 5 years ago; AirTag 4 and a half years ago and Studio Display 3 and a half years ago.
The gap between these versions is in complete contrast to the annual upgrade cycle that Apple often applies to its flagship product lines such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, which are updated regularly every year or at least every 18 months, whether it is a major improvement or just a maintenance.
Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, and AirTag 2 are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, while the new generation Studio Display could launch in early 2026.
Users and the technology world are waiting to see what Apple will do to breathe new life into these less-prioritized products.
