According to the current roadmap, one-way blocked subscribers from June 15 will continue to be two-way blocked after 60 days if information confirmation or verification is not completed.
This means that users not only lose the ability to make calls and send messages, but also cannot receive incoming calls and SMS messages, including OTP codes from banks and online services.
Person locked in one direction but not yet returned to authenticate
This is the group with the highest risk of being double-locked. Many people believe that still receiving incoming calls or SMS messages means that the subscriber is still operating normally, so they have not proactively contacted the network operator to complete the procedures.
However, if you continue to ignore the notifications, the subscriber will enter a two-way lock phase after 60 days.
Elderly people face difficulties in accessing technology
A part of the elderly are still not familiar with using VNeID or digital applications of telecommunications businesses.
Many cases have received notifications but do not know how to confirm or cannot perform biometric operations on their phones themselves.
Network operators recommend that relatives proactively support grandparents and parents to check the subscriber status to avoid interrupting communication in the near future.
People who are abroad
People studying, working or living abroad also belong to the group that needs special attention.
If confirmation via VNeID has not been completed or has not contacted the telecommunications business for guidance, bidirection blocking of subscribers may affect bank accounts, public services or online platforms that are using domestic phone numbers for authentication.
SIM card users are named after relatives
There are many cases where phone numbers are being used but the subscribers are parents, spouses or other relatives.
If they have not carried out the updated or confirmed procedures according to regulations, these subscribers are also at risk of being handled similarly to other cases.
Network operators recommend that people should proactively check owner information and contact telecommunications businesses when detecting errors.
There's still time to restore service
According to regulations, after being one-way locked, users still have 60 days to complete confirmation or authentication.
Immediately after successful implementation, telecommunications businesses will restore services without waiting for the next milestones.
Network operators recommend that users should not wait until close to the two-way lock time to carry out procedures to avoid difficulties or overload at transaction points.
