Recently, OpenAI has officially launched the o3‐Pro model, a high-end version of the GPT 4-5 language model generation.
Compared to regular versions such as o3 or o1, o3‐Pro is not only more powerful in terms of argumentation but also supports a series of high-end tools such as real-time search, text file processing, image analysis and code implementation Python.
The special thing is that this version has the ability to independently build a logical mindset chain, helping to create more accurate responses to complex tasks such as data analysis, programming, business decision making and scientific research.
However, this outstanding strength comes with some limitations worth considering. The processing speed of o3‐Pro is quite slow. This makes the user experience not really smooth compared to lighter models such as o3‐mini.
In addition, the cost of use is also a major barrier when OpenAI announced prices of up to 20 USD for each million tokens imported and 80 USD for each million tokens exported, many times more expensive than other models currently on the market.
In addition, o3‐Pro has not yet supported photo creation features such as DALL·E or Temporary chats, and some canvas tools that are popular with creative users are also limited. This shows that OpenAI is more oriented towards this model for in-depth tasks than for general users.
OpenAI o3‐Pro can be the choice for businesses, researchers or engineers who need high reliability in machine reasoning.
However, for popular users, slow processing speed and high costs may be the reasons why they hesitate to switch to this new model.
