On the afternoon of July 31, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University suddenly passed away in Hanoi, at the age of 56.
FPT Corporation confirmed the information that Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University, suddenly passed away at more than 4:00 p.m. on July 31 due to heart failure.
Before passing away, he was still active on social networks and in real life, especially in the fields of education, technology and startups.
Earlier, on the same morning, Mr. Tien was still planning to film a program related to two books he wrote about his parents. The book "A letter to me about your parents' love story" written by him has been published in 50,000 copies and was honored as one of the outstanding books of 2024.
Mr. Hoang Nam Tien is the youngest son of Major General Hoang Dan (19282003) and National Assembly delegate Nguyen Thi An Vinh (19332022). Born in 1969 in Hanoi, he joined FPT in 1993 and has been with the group for the past 30 years.
During his career, he has held the position of Chairman of FPT Software, FPT Telecom and made great contributions to the development of the group's education development strategy. Before passing away, he held the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University, in charge of postgraduate training.
In addition to his role as a corporate governor, Mr. Tien is known as a speaker, technology expert, teacher and startup consultant. He is also one of the prominent faces in the digital content creation community, having been awarded the "Digital content creator for the community" award in 2024.
Speaking when receiving this award, he once shared: "As long as people are curious, creative and emotional, artificial intelligence cannot surpass humans". Mr. Tien also emphasized the role of the digital environment in creating conditions for everyone, from the elderly, young people to farmers, to be creative, share knowledge and be honored.
