According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of August 1, at PVOIL Nghia Tan gas station (Hoang Quoc Viet street, Nghia Do ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi), E10 gasoline has been imported to serve the people.
This store has installed an infographic about this type of fuel, and the gas station staff also actively advises customers about the environmental benefits of E10 gasoline. The pumping station nameplate and electronic price list have been changed accordingly to suit the new item.
At the store, 3 E10 fuel pumps have been arranged separately, including 1 for cars and 2 for motorbikes. However, according to the reporter's records, most customers are not really interested in the type of fuel being poured but still choose according to habit, mainly "whenever there is something missing, go in".
However, when the staff informed them that this was the first day of the E10 gasoline pilot, many people were still happy and willing to experience the new fuel.

"Because there are not many gas stations selling biofuel for a long time, I did not pay attention. But today, hearing the staff introduce the environmentally friendly E10 gasoline, I decided to try it," said Mr. Binh, a technology motorbike taxi driver.
Mr. Tuan (Tay Mo ward, Hanoi) said that he had learned about E10 in advance - a type of gasoline with a mixture of 10% Pethanol and 90% RON95 mineral gasoline, which is considered an upgrade compared to E5 gasoline. Although he is more assured with a higher octan level, he still expressed concern about the information that biofuel has a high humidity, which can affect the engine if not properly preserved.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Vuong Thi Kim Thinh - Head of PVOIL Nghia Tan store said that this morning (from 6:30 to 9:00), an E10 fuel pump for a car was sold for 79 liters, while the two hoses for a motorbike reached a total of 140 liters.
According to Ms. Thinh, with a location near hospitals, markets and schools, the store often has a stable number of customers and is expected to consume about 1,000 liters of E10 per day. To serve the pilot phase (August 1), the store imported 14,000 liters of E10 gasoline, equivalent to 3 compartments.
Regarding selling price, the current retail price of E10 gasoline is listed at VND 19,600/liter, about VND 570 lower than the current RON95-V gasoline price (VND 20,170/liter).

Mr. Cao Hoai Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVOIL said that the pilot sale of E10 gasoline from August 1, 2025 is a strategic step, to help consumers gradually get used to the new fuel, avoiding creating "shock" in the transition process.
Along with the testing activities, PVOIL also promotes communication, aiming to realize the Government's policy on the use of environmentally friendly fuels.
A representative of Petrolimex said that domestic and foreign studies, including documents from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), confirm that E10 gasoline is basically compatible with most types of gasoline engines in circulation.
A notable advantage is the high octan index thanks to the ethanol component, which helps the combustion process in the incinerator to take place evenly and thoroughly, reducing the risk of early explosion and improving the performance of the engine, especially on modern vehicles.
Petrolimex said that it has carefully prepared for the pilot phase of selling E10 gasoline based on its experience in implementing E5 RON92 gasoline. The preparation stages include: completing the management process and legal documents; upgrading the mixing system, tanks, equipment at Nha Be General warehouse and stores; conducting a trial mixing and quality inspection; registering and announcing the compliance of the mixing system; selecting suitable stores in Ho Chi Minh City to deploy and announce product unit prices.
Up to now, Petrolimex has not encountered significant difficulties in organizing processing and business in the Ho Chi Minh City area (before the merger). The enterprise has flexibly applied the experience of mixing E5 gasoline to implement the mixing and blending of E10 RON95 gasoline in accordance with standards and regulations. Currently, Petrolimex is also receiving the same supply and mixing process as for E5 RON92 gasoline.
