According to CEO Aravind Srinivas, the build for Windows has been completed and early testing invitations have been sent to some users.
Comet is a browser with integrated artificial intelligence, allowing users to ask questions, check the shopping basket to find discount codes and search for unresponsive emails. A notable feature in the beta is Try on - users can upload personal photos and Comet will create an image of them trying on their chosen item.
Srinivas also revealed that the Android version is in development and is even ahead of schedule. However, there is currently no official release date and Comet is still in the waiting list opening phase.
Comet's browser was once controversial when Perplexity CEO said in a podcast interview that the product could "taken data from beyond the application" to better understand users. Ms. Srinivas later corrected on X that her speech was misunderstood and affirmed that users will have the right not to participate in personalizing advertisements.
When officially launched, Comet will have to compete with other AI- embedded browsers such as Opera Neon, a product of Google and OpenAI.
