On April 25, the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) and Thuy Loi University organized an event in response to the World Intellectual Property Day with the theme: "intellectual Property and Music: Feeling the rhythm of intellectual property".
Speaking at the event, Mr. Luu Hoang Long - Director of the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) said that the message of Intellectual Property Day 2025 reminds us of the role of intellectual property in the spiritual world of humans.
"intellectual property is not only a driving force for creativity and economic growth, but also a tool to protect human art treasures.

According to statistics, leading corporations such as Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, ... all develop based on intellectual property from patents, brands, to business secrets and software... This is clear evidence that in the digital age, intangible assets, especially intellectual property, are the key to breakthrough development thanks to science and technology" - Mr. Long emphasized.
Also at the event, Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu - Principal of the University of Water Resources said that the school always attaches importance to the role of intellectual property in training, scientific research and technology transfer. For that reason, up to now, the school has won: 10 patents; 1 international patent, granted in India; 6 patents of exclusive huu ich solution, for products related to materials, environmental engineering, biological products; 1 industrial ownership certificate; about 10 invention and invention registration applications have been accepted and are in the process of being appraised...

In addition, the President of the University of Water Resources called on students to actively study, research and be creative, while learning and applying knowledge about intellectual property into practice. "Let's own intelligence to become a companion on the path to conquering knowledge and asserting oneself" - Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu emphasized.
According to the organizers, this event aims to raise awareness, connect resources and arouse the spirit of innovation in the whole society. This is also an opportunity to honor the contributions of creative entities, inventors and entrepreneurs, who have expanded the limits of creativity and inspired an innovative future.
In the modern music industry, intellectual property plays a role as a legal foundation, protecting creative values and the interests of individuals and organizations. More than just a management tool, intellectual property is also a spiritual support for musicians, because when a song is protected, the composer's name is recognized, it not only brings a sense of pride and peace of mind but also affirms identity.
World Intellectual Property Day is held every April 26, initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000. Every year, WIPO chooses a separate theme for World Intellectual Property Day to highlight a specific aspect.
