On January 27, information with Lao Dong Ministry of Science and Technology said that by the end of 2025, Vietnam recorded about 685,000 operating national domain names ".vn". With this scale, .vn domain names are currently ranked Top 3 in the ASEAN region, Top 11 in Asia - Pacific and Top 39 globally.
The Ministry of Science and Technology assessed that the above results show the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam's Internet ecosystem. The national domain name ".vn" is not only a identification tool in cyberspace but also has important significance in affirming Vietnam's digital sovereignty.
With the role of state management, the Ministry of Science and Technology identifies the domain name ".vn" as one of the core Internet infrastructures, serving the development of the digital economy, digital society and digital government. The widespread use of national domain names contributes to improving the level of safety and reliability for online activities of agencies, businesses and people.
According to the Ministry, in the context of strong digital transformation, the ".vn" domain name continues to be oriented for development associated with the goal of ensuring national digital sovereignty, strengthening autonomy in cyberspace and enhancing Vietnam's position on the global Internet map.
