It was thought that when storms No. 10 and 11 (year 2025) passed, the flood would soon recede so that people's lives would return to normal, but in the small hamlet of Lung Phay (Quang Uyen commune), the obsession caused by the historic flood still lasted for many months.
Due to the terrain of the long chao valley, surrounded by rocky mountains, the floodwater here receded very slowly, causing the whole hamlet to be surrounded for nearly 4 months.

Until the morning of January 26, 2026, when the water finally receded completely, Ms. Nong Thi Huong emotionally shared on social networks: "The water has receded, everyone, I'm so happy, Lung Phay households have houses to celebrate Tet.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting the situation that many days after the flood, a series of villages in Cao Bang were still deeply flooded.
Accordingly, Lung Phay hamlet, Quang Uyen commune, many days after the storm passed, is still flooded, and households need support. The information posted by many individuals on social media platforms made many people shocked and moved with sympathy.

Up to now, nearly 4 months after the flood has receded, Lung Phay small hamlet has emerged in a desolate scene. Black moss covers the walls of houses, and trees have drowned after many months of being submerged in water.
Many households have dirty water overflowing the altar, heavy damage to furniture, and degraded main doors and windows. People are busy returning to clean up and overcome the consequences.
However, the fact that projects are soaked in water for a long time poses a potential risk of structural unsafety. Talking to reporters, Ms. Hoang Thi Hieu - Chairwoman of Quang Uyen Commune People's Committee - said that the locality will organize inspections and assess the current status of each house, only when safety is ensured will people be allowed to return to live.

According to statistics, the whole hamlet has 7 households most severely affected when flooding lasted for 4 months. During that time, they had to stay at acquaintances' houses, occasionally rowing homemade rafts to visit their homes.
This flood was reported by people to have recreated the scene about 40 years ago, when the water rose and receded very slowly in Lung Phay.

In October 2025, Cao Bang province will be heavily affected on a large scale due to the circulation of two storms No. 10 and 11. Prolonged rain and floods have caused serious damage to people and property.
In the natural disaster, 7 people were killed, 5 people were injured; more than 14,000 houses were affected with different levels such as collapses, roof blowouts, foundation collapses, and flooding.
In addition, over 11,000 hectares of rice, crops and crops were flooded, broken, and buried.
Thousands of livestock and poultry died or were swept away. Many residential areas were cut off and isolated; key traffic routes, schools, medical facilities, irrigation works and electricity and water systems were heavily damaged. Total damage caused by the two storms is estimated at more than 3,000 billion VND.
Natural disasters have passed, but the consequences left by the flood in Lung Phai are still present, becoming a warning about the increasing severity of climate change and the challenges in ensuring safety and stability of life for people in the highlands.
