More Vietnamese network operators participate in Global Global Initiative GSMA Open Gateway

The World Mobile Association (GSMA) shook hands with a network operator in Vietnam to deploy API service, under GSMA Open Gateway.

GSMA Open Gateway is a global initiative initiated by GSMA, in order to standardize application programming interfaces (APIs) between carriers. As a result, businesses, developers and organizations in the digital ecosystem can easily access and integrate telecommunications - technology services flexibly, secure and transparent. Up to now, the initiative has been the participation of more than 280 carriers, accounting for 80% of the global mobile connection.

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with GSMA to officially deploy API service at the GSMA Open Gateway initiative.

They are the next unit in Vietnam to shake hands with GSMA to deploy API. Earlier, by 2024, Viettel network also cooperated with the World Mobile Association to deploy API under this initiative.

"Join GSMA Open Gateway is a strategic step to help us promote the main role in the national digital transformation. We are committed to providing open API solutions, better serving the needs of authenticity, security, control and digital transactions, and promoting comprehensive financial models, cross -border payments and safety and modern services for the people, the general director of the people."

In Vietnam, VNPT oriented the development of API services according to Open Gateway in 5 key areas: user authentication; Telecommunications services; Digital finance; IoT & 5g; And grading, discovering fraud. These are all important pillars in the digital ecosystem and are the foundation for deploying new technology applications in the digital era.
