On November 21-22, the competition on research and manufacturing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was held at Ton Duc Thang University.

The international competition for applied research in the field of UAVs was co-founded by Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Vietnam Aviation Academy and leading universities from the Czech Republic such as Technical University of Ostrava and Tomas Bata University.

The theme of the 2024 competition is “Navigate and drop”, with the aim of developing an unmanned aerial system that allows balls to be dropped or fired at targets on the ground.

The five targets include four drop targets and one goal target, each with a different diameter, and the UAVs must drop or shoot balls from a certain height above the target (above 5m above the stadium floor) with the highest possible accuracy.

This topic comes from the idea of using UAVs to transport goods and relief supplies to isolated areas (due to natural disasters, fires, etc.).

The final results are as follows:

First Prize (champion team): SkyVision Team – Ton Duc Thang University with the prize of Cup and cash prize of 2,500 USD.

Second Prize: SkyNetics Team - Ton Duc Thang University with the award of a plaque of honor and cash of 1,500 USD.

Third Prize: Propellers of VSB Team – Technical University of Ostrava with the award of a plaque and cash of 1,000 USD.

Encouragement Prize: Sempa Team - Tomas Bata University with a plaque of honor and cash prize of 500 USD

Creativity Award (for the team with the most unique and creative algorithm and strategy): Team VAERO - Vietnam Aviation Academy with the award of a plaque of honor and cash of 500 USD.
