The National Innovation Center (NIC - under the Ministry of Finance) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) held a Report Announcement Ceremony for "Vietnam AI Economy 2025."
In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the main driving forces behind digital transformation and economic development globally, including Vietnam. The development of AI not only contributes to improving the competitiveness of the economy but also opens up many opportunities for innovation in all fields of production, services and social management.
According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC) - Vietnam is entering a particularly important transformation phase, in the context of the 4th industrial revolution taking place strongly with new breakthroughs in strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, renewable energy and big data reshaping the global value chain and changing the structure of economies.
In particular, AI is emerging as a central driving force of this revolution, with a scale forecast to contribute up to 5 trillion USD to the global economy by 2030, according to IDC's report.
"Faced with this historic opportunity, Vietnam is determined not only to participate, but also to establish a solid position in this key field, through proactively promoting extensive cooperation with countries, economies and leading technology corporations in the world" - Mr. Vu Quoc Huy emphasized.
Recently, the Party and State of Vietnam have had many important policies and decisions, such as Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Resolution 68 on private economic development of the Politburo, Resolution 193 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation...
According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, to realize the above policies and guidelines, under the strong direction of the Ministry of Finance, the National Innovation Center has coordinated with JICA to develop the Report "Vietnam AI Economy 2025". The report is the first document to provide a panoramic view of the AI economy in Vietnam, providing some international experiences and lessons for AI development and analyzing opportunities in key economic sectors, proposing development pillars for the AI economy.

"The National Innovation Center hopes this will be a useful reference document, helping central and local state management agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals build roadmaps, plans, and solutions for development, as well as the application of AI technology" - Mr. Vu Quoc Huy said.
Continuing that cooperation, NIC will work with JICA DXLab to implement the AI Startup Acceleration Program in Vietnam in the coming time, in order to support early-stage startups in improving their capacity, approaching the market, attracting investment and gradually building internal resources for the innovation ecosystem in the AI field in Vietnam.
