Artichoke tea
Artichoke is not only a folk liver cooling food, but is also scientifically recognized for its many outstanding benefits for liver health. Artichoke contains cynarin and silymarin, two active ingredients that can:
Increases bile secretion, helps the liver detoxify and digest fat better.
Reduces lipid accumulation in liver cells, thanks to regulating enzymes involved in fat metabolism.
Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, limit liver damage caused by oxidative stress.
A clinical trial showed that patients with fatty liver who took 600 mg of artichoke extract per day for 8 weeks significantly reduced liver enzymes ALT, AST and triglyceride levels in the liver.
In the summer, drinking unsweetened or low-sugar cold artichoke tea every day helps purify the liver naturally, while supporting digestion and cooling the body.
Grapefruit juice
Grapefruit is a low-calorie fruit, but rich in vitamin C, antioxidants flavonoids and especially naringenin, a compound that can activate fatty acid oxidative enzymes in the liver, thereby reducing fat accumulation.
A study from the National Institute of Health (NIH, USA) said that naringenin in grapefruit can reduce inflammation in the liver and improve insulin sensitivity, two core factors in the prevention and treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver.
However, it is important to note the drug interaction: Grapefruit can increase the absorption of some drugs (such as statins, blood pressure drugs). People who are being treated with drugs should consult a doctor before taking them regularly.
Celery juice
Celery is a vegetable with diuretic, liver-cooling properties and helps reduce blood fat thanks to containing plant compounds such as apigenin, luteoline, along with soluble fiber.
Celery extract helps reduce liver fat, improve blood lipid index and increase the activity of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase.
Drinking celery juice in the morning, 30 minutes before meals, can help increase detoxification through the liver and kidneys, reduce LDL cholesterol and support fat loss effectively.
You should not completely replace the filtered water with the above drinks, but should only supplement 1-2 glasses per day, preferably in the morning or early afternoon.
Limit or not use sugar when mixing, to avoid increasing the metabolic burden on the liver.
Combine with a diet rich in green vegetables, fish, whole grains and avoid fried foods and alcoholic beverages.
