Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
Try to eat at least five portions of fruits and vegetables a day, such as beans, citrus fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, bell peppers and tomatoes. These foods are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants that help keep your gallbladder healthy. In particular, vitamin C, magnesium and folate are good for gallbladder health.
High in fiber
A diet rich in fiber supports the digestive system and the process of transporting food through the intestines. At the same time, fiber also helps maintain a healthy gallbladder. Foods rich in fiber include fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains and oats, according to Spire healthcare.
Drink enough water
Staying hydrated is very important. Make sure to drink at least two liters of fluid per day, such as water and/or herbal tea.
Starch rich in fiber
Prioritize choosing starches with high fiber content such as whole grains, brown rice and whole wheat bran.
Dairy products
Eat two to three servings of milk or dairy products per day, and choose low-fat products whenever possible. This helps maintain healthy calcium levels, which is important for gallbladder health.
Lean
Although red meat is a good source of protein, it is often high in fat - which is not beneficial for gallbladder. Instead, try eating lean meat, sardines or eggs. In addition, you can use plant-based protein sources such as beans, lentils, nuts, tofu.
Healthy fats
Healthy fats are unsaturated fats of plant origin, rather than animal. For example, the fats in avocados, nuts, seeds, as well as olive oil, canola oil and sunflower oil. Try to replace animal fat and saturated fat in your diet with unsaturated fats of plant origin.
