People with high blood pressure should not eat these foods for breakfast

Breakfast plays an important role in the diet to support blood pressure control.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common cardiovascular disease, affecting millions of people around the world.

According to the World Health Organization, consuming a lot of sodium (salt) and low in potassium is a major factor leading to high blood pressure and eating an unreasonable breakfast can make this condition worse.

One of the foods that people with high blood pressure should avoid is processed meats such as sausages, jambons, bacon. Just one serving of sausage can contain up to 500700 mg of sodium nearly one-third of the recommended daily sodium intake (2,300 mg). The World Health Organization also recommends a limit of 2,000 mg/day.

White bread and refined grains are not good choices. These foods have a high glycemic index, easily increasing blood sugar and insulin levels, thereby negatively affecting blood pressure.

A diet high in refined starch increases the risk of metabolic syndrome, including high blood pressure.

High-sugar breakfast dishes such as cakes, sugary cereals or canned juices should also be eliminated. Sugar increases the inflammatory response in the body and contributes to hardening of the arteries. Consuming too much sugar is closely linked to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.

People with high blood pressure should avoid foods high in salt, sugar and refined starch for breakfast. Instead, prioritize oats, fresh fruits, boiled eggs and nuts foods that help maintain stable blood pressure and protect the heart for a long time.
