Be independent, take care of yourself
Learning to be independent and knowing how to take care of yourself is one of the important skills that parents should teach their children early. Young children can learn how to arrange work, manage their own belongings as well as know how to prepare necessary items when going out with family. Building awareness from small things will help children know how to solve their own problems quickly.
Do housework
Parents can assign appropriate housework at each age of their children. Young children doing small tasks such as folding clothes, blankets, mattresses, or arranging dining tables after meals will help children have a greater sense of responsibility to the family, without relying on parents or adults in the house.
Communication and behavior
Every Tet holiday is also an opportunity for children to meet relatives on both sides of the family or friends. This will be an opportunity for parents to observe and guide their children in communicating and interacting with older people or peers. Learning to visit, say thank you or apologize at the right time... are necessary skills for children in later life.
