How to make fragrant and cool peppermint pomegranate tea, cooling down in the summer

When summer starts to get hot, fresh fruit drinks are always the top priority to quench thirst and detoxify the body. Instead of carbonated soft drinks, peppermint red pomegranate tea is becoming a favorite choice of many families.

To make delicious pomegranate tea, housewives need to prepare 2 ripe red pomegranates (about 600gr), 2 tea bags (should choose black tea or iced tea to enhance the aroma), a small handful of fresh mint leaves (about 15 - 20 leaves).

Sweetening spices include 50ml of sugar water (or honey), 1/2 fresh lemon and ice cubes. Using sugar water will help the drink blend faster and maintain the clarity of the teacup.

After buying pomegranate, separate the seeds. Put half of the pomegranate seeds in a juicer to get about 150ml of juice, leave the other half with the seeds to decorate and create crunchy crispness when drinking. Wash mint leaves, drain. This is the secret to help the tea cup have a refreshing aroma and stimulate taste immediately.

Incubate 2 tea bags with 300ml of boiling water (about 90°C) for 5-7 minutes. After the tea has reached the desired consistency, remove the tea bags and let cool. Avoid incubating the tea in hot water for too long because it will make the tea bitter, overwhelming the natural sweetness of pomegranates.

Next, put tea water in a large bottle, mix with pomegranate juice, sugar water and squeeze a little lemon juice to balance the sweet and sour taste. Before putting ice in the bottle, gently rub about 10 fresh mint leaves and then drop them into the tea mixture. Gently rubbing will help mint essential oil drain faster, bringing a characteristic numbness when enjoying.

Finally, put ice cubes in the cup, pour the mint pomegranate tea mixture and decorate with dark red pomegranate seeds with a little plump green mint on top. A standard cup of tea needs to have a clear pinkish-red color, harmonious sweet and sour taste, and the strong aroma of tea blended with the pure mint scent.
