In the new episode of the program "Meeting for Lunch", the story of Mr. Tran Khanh Dung (born in 1978, owner of a mechanical shop in Ho Chi Minh City, from Vinh Long) and Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1982, warehouse manager in Tay Ninh) moved the audience with their sincerity, simplicity and desire to find a peaceful haven after many upheavals.
Right from the introduction, Ms. Thuy attracted attention when she shared that she is a single mother of 4 children, of which the eldest child is married, and the remaining children are studying or working. Because she is busy making a living, she rarely has time for herself, and participating in this program is also because the children encouraged her to "find a lover for their mother".
She admits that her strength is cooking well, liking to take care of her family and being able to sing, especially vọng cổ. However, she also frankly admits that she is a bit hot-tempered at work because she always wants everything to be completed well.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dung said that he is a responsible person, rarely gathers with friends, does not drink much alcohol and spends most of his time on work. After a broken marriage more than two years ago, his three daughters currently live with their mother. He shared that the most important criteria when finding a partner is a filial woman, who knows how to love children and has similar circumstances to easily understand.
When they were disguised and met for the first time, both seemed quite confused but quickly opened up to talk. Ms. Thuy recounted that the marriage ended because her husband was playful and did not put family first. Mr. Dung said that the reason for his breakup was related to conflicts in his behavior with his elderly mother, which made him even more value filial piety in marriage.
The program atmosphere became lighter when the two were invited to show their singing talent. Ms. Thuy opened with a lyrical folk song with the line: "Homeland love is endless, places I haven't been to, I'm not used to, but I miss...", a simple but emotional voice that made the studio applaud and cheer.
Next, Mr. Dung responded with the song "Green Betel Leaves". Although singing simply, the impromptu duet of the two helped them find harmony in both music and emotions, creating a close moment.
The noteworthy highlight of the episode is the 30-second hug challenge. After the hug, Ms. Thuy confided that she felt "very strange", both confused and touched, perhaps because she had not had intimacy with a man for a long time. Meanwhile, Mr. Dung frankly said that he had good feelings and was ready for the opportunity to get to know each other.
In the quick question section, both agreed that at this age, the most important thing in love is peace. They also agreed that it is necessary to be clear about money, should speak frankly when there are conflicts and still want to have an official wedding if going further.
During a private conversation, Ms. Thuy shared that her work schedule is from 3 pm to 3 am, so she has little time to meet. Mr. Dung replied that the most important thing is still the heart and sincerity, not to put too much emphasis on distance or time.
At the end of the program, the two decided to turn on the lights and agree to date in the cheers of the audience. Ms. Thuy's daughter also appeared, expressing her wish that her mother would find a good person to rely on, creating a warm moment for the studio.
