The Wildlife Protection Network in Traditional Medicine has just coordinated with Choice, WildAid and Dinosaur Vietnam to launch the "Binh Sac Vay Ti" Project, calling on the community to stop using pangolin to treat milk radiation and encourage safer, more legal and humane alternatives.
Pumpkin is a breeding animal that is being hunted to extinction for beliefs in traditional medicine. Although pangolin scales have been banned from sale, they are still trusted by many people to treat collapsed milk radiation.
A survey by WildAid in 2023 showed that nearly 50% of doctors in Hue still believe that pangolin is effective in treating breast obstruction, although 83% admitted that this is a violation of the law.
"As a mother who experienced a milk blockage, I understand that pain and despair. Many mothers have come to pangolin as a "saving wing" solution, but few know that behind it is the death of gentle animals that are gradually disappearing from nature," said Ms. Thoi Thi Chau Nhi, Director of Choice.
"I hope we will together choose humane and sustainable solutions, to both take care of mother and baby and protect the rights to life of pangolins".
The focus of the project is PSA (public media message) with the name "Binh Sua Vay Be", recreating the silent pain of postpartum mothers when they accidentally choose a cruel solution to unblock the milk flow for their children. PSA is not only a warning but also a call for love, empathy and science - for mothers to take care of their children with the right faith.
Miss H'Hen Nie - Goodwill Ambassador of the "Binh Sua Vay Ti" project - shared: "When I had a child, I understood that everyone wanted to bring the best to their child. But true love is when we choose to take care of our children without causing harm to other lives. I believe that Vietnamese mothers will be the pioneers in spreading this message of compassion".

Accompanying in the campaign are supermodel Vo Hoang Yen, actor Salim, editor Huong Giang (Gia Dinh Truyen Hinh), content creator Doan Hai My, Kien Hoang (Gia Dinh Cam Cam Cam), Quynh Anh (Banh Mi Nhuc Nhich's Family) ...
These ambassadors not only spread the message but also contributed to inspiring a sustainable future - where people and nature are both protected and loved.
