The story of Ms. Vu Thi Thu (residing in Hung Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province) and her daughter has received attention in recent days.
Ms. Thu, born in 1992, and her daughter, born in 2009, took a photo shoot together on the occasion of her 16th birthday. The photo series unexpectedly went viral on social media, was reposted by many news sites, and attracted a large amount of interaction.

Thu's daughter, An Nhi, is the couple's first child. Thu is a mother of three but is still surprised that many people mistake her for her, or even her daughter's twin.
"Not only after posting the photo series, but every day, I am still mistaken for my daughter's sister. Even my family members are mistaken. One day, my sister came home and said she had just seen me on the street. Later, when my daughter came home, my sister realized she had mistaken me because she was wearing my clothes.
The mother and daughter also have similar dressing styles, so many people think I am the daughter's older sister or friend. On her birthday, she wanted to invite me to take a commemorative photo shoot in a poetic style, so the two of us went to take photos," Ms. Thu told about the "half-crying, half-laughing" stories of everyday life.
Ms. Thu said that because she is 17 years older than her child, she is like a friend to her child, easily confiding in and sharing life with her child: "Whenever she has happy or sad things, she whispers to me. Sometimes, she even calls me sister."
The mother is working in the cosmetics business. Ms. Thu revealed how she takes care of her health to have a youthful appearance and slim figure: "Actually, my husband and I have been vegetarian for nearly 4 years.
I limit my intake of fatty foods, and my body doesn't gain weight easily, so my figure hasn't changed much after three births. When I first gave birth, I was very thin and it took me a while to gain weight again."
