As Vietnamese Family Day June 28 approaches, many families have planned to spend time with their children after months of being busy with work and study.
According to many parents, this is an opportunity for members to temporarily put aside their daily worries and create meaningful moments of connection together.
Ms. Nguyen Trang Thao (Phu Tho) said that she and her family are planning to take their children to Hanoi to play on the weekend on Vietnamese Family Day.
My children are on summer vacation, so this is a suitable time for my whole family to be together more. I plan to take my children to the zoo and amusement park so that they have more experiences," Ms. Trang Thao shared.
For Ms. Trang Thao, the most important thing is not where to go or how much money to spend, but to spend time with her children. Simple activities such as eating together, walking or visiting a new place are enough for family members to feel the care and love from their families.
Similarly, Ms. Le Trang (Hai Phong) said that her family has also planned to spend the whole day of June 28 for her wife and children.
Busy work makes the time for the whole family to gather is not much. On this occasion, I plan to take my children to dinner with the family and buy them a small gift," Ms. Le Trang confided.
Many parents believe that summer vacation and Vietnamese Family Day are opportunities to make up for the little time spent with their children during the school year.
Psychologist Mai Ngoc Quyen - NHC Vietnam Center for Human Development and Psychology - said that instead of letting children spend too much time on phones, tablets or electronic devices, in the summer days and especially on June 28, each family should choose outdoor activities, sightseeing or simply having meals together.
''The presence and companionship of parents plays an important role in children's development, especially during the summer,'' the expert said.
Also according to psychologists, conversations, common activities or time to play together not only help children feel love but also contribute to building cohesion and trust in the family.
Vietnamese Family Day is approaching, which is also an opportunity for many people to look back at the value of reunion. For many families, the most meaningful gift for their children lies not in material things but in time and the companionship of parents.
