Recently, there have been many groups discussing the story of early retirement, whether to retire at the age of 40 - 50 or how to prepare mentally if forced to retire early... which has received the attention and comments of millions of members.
Many stories are shared on the group for many different reasons, from being tired from work pressure, being so busy that they don't have time to take care of their children, husbands and wives being angry when they are busy, or health problems being at a serious warning level or being forced to "retire early" when the company dissolves or merges...
Ms. Trang Pham (Hanoi) shared the story that she had a stable job just over 1 year ago, still spending enough time raising and taking care of her children. With her job in the organization department at a public educational institution, she received salary and bonuses, fully paid social insurance and determined to stick with the job for a long time until she received her pension.
However, at the age of 45, Ms. Trang Pham never thought her life would turn into an unexpected turning point until the establishment merged, was streamlined and forced to quit her job.
I don't think I will have to leave the working environment that I have been attached to for more than 10 years. With the age of U50, it is difficult to apply for a job that is both suitable for my ability and ensures maintaining a stable life like before" - Ms. Trang Pham said.
However, Ms. Trang Pham feels much luckier than many of her colleagues when she only receives an unemployment salary for about 3 months to find another job to be able to continue the salary grade as well as maintain the social insurance contribution level as before.
But Ms. Trang Pham admitted that the new working environment makes it difficult for her to harmonize, and she realized that age is also an important deciding factor because "at the age of 45, I am no longer young, healthy and agile to integrate and get used to the new working environment. The pressure and fatigue of work is more about hands and feet than mind, making me really not know how long I can stand...".
Since switching to a new job, Ms. Trang Pham has thought about retiring early at least a few times. The plan to retire early was also discussed by her with her husband to build a roadmap for preparation in the next 5 years.
During the next 5 years of working, Ms. Trang and her husband both worked and tried to accumulate more to have solid financial capital, trying to pay social insurance for 25 years to be able to receive 65% of their monthly pension, and importantly, when their children are mature enough, graduating from university, parents also reduce the burden somewhat...
We should not be afraid of retiring because I think, retiring, no matter what age, is not choosing to stop but to turn to another more suitable direction. Each choice, each decision also needs careful consideration to ensure life operates smoothly, without being derailed.
Continuing to spend time pursuing what I am passionate about, having time to take care of my family and upgrade myself is the goal that I will aim for when the right time comes to make my early retirement decision" - Ms. Trang Pham emphasized.
