The program "You want to date" with two main characters this week, Mr. Vu Quoc Hiep (36 years old, from Dong Thap, working as an electronic equipment consultant in Lam Dong) and Ms. Huynh Thi Sau (34 years old, from Quang Ngai, working as an accountant in Ho Chi Minh City). They met with the same very simple wish: to find a partner to feel secure in building a future.
Right from the introduction, Mr. Hiep attracted sympathy for the sincerity, gentleness, and somewhat rusticity of a Western guy. He admits that his advantage is being approachable, sociable, knowing how to cook, but being less entertained in the arts, entertainment and sometimes hot-tempered due to work pressure.
Ms. Sau is a gentle but straightforward woman. She admits that her weaknesses are often forgotten. In return, she is cheerful, sociable, loves children, likes to cook and take care of her family.
Both of them did not come to the show with a bloated mentality. Ms. Sau has had two relationships, one of which lasted three years but broke up due to differences in life views and geographical distance. Mr. Hiep had three relationships, had a "secret love" because the female family did not agree due to difference in economic conditions, then broke up because of a long distance and could not find a common voice.
Regarding the criteria for choosing a partner, Mr. Hiep jokingly said: "First of all, a girl is fine", then clearly stated his desire for a girlfriend to be happy, gentle, and not drink too much. Ms. Sau was straightforward: "No need for a perfect husband, just be close to "Mr. Quyen Linh".
Regarding money, Mr. Hiep said that those who manage well should keep the money, as long as they are transparent and build a family together. When going out to eat, if he had identified his lover, he would be willing to "pay 10/10 times", without calculating.
Geographical distance - an issue that often makes many couples hesitant - is also clearly stated. He currently works in Lam Dong, his family is in the West, while she is living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Hiep said that the nature of his job allowed him to move if necessary, just need time to adapt. Ms. Sau expressed her willingness to return to the West if the love is big enough, but also hoped that her boyfriend would have a clear plan for both of them to feel secure.
The moment we met after "opening the fence" was one of the cutest moments. He gave her a simple gift, and she responded with... a bottle of homemade fish sauce, with a humorous explanation: "Give me a rich, salty love".
The atmosphere on stage became even warmer when Ms. Sau sang a part about the West, while Mr. Hiep patiently answered practical questions: where to start a business, change jobs, start a family, and how to divide family matters. He did not paint a pink perspective, only explained that he had a ready-made house in the countryside, a gentle mother, and was willing to move to a work area if his wife wanted him to, and always respected his career choice and plans.
At the end, before placing their hands on the button, the two had enough time to chat and consider. And then, in the sound of music, both Mr. Hiep and Ms. Sau simultaneously pressed the button to agree to date, exchanged a handshake and kiss according to the "law" of the show.
