The Vietnamese Family Magazine was preceded by the Family Magazine. On October 5, 1995, the first issue of the newspaper was launched to readers under a license from the Ministry of Culture and Information. At that time, the publication was considered an internal newsletter, distributed in the Central system of the Vietnam Family Planning Association and some localities.
After only 4 years, in 1999, the Magazine had a new step of development with the publication of Happy Family for a Couple, quickly widely distributed, becoming a "companion" of many Vietnamese families. In 2011, the Magazine was upgraded to Vietnam Family Newspaper, developing both print and electronic newspapers in parallel, contributing to enriching the lives of the country's press. In 2020, according to the national press plan, the unit returned to the magazine model with many basic innovations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, shared: Vietnam Family Magazine is such a publication - close, warm, each page of the newspaper contains laughter, love and sharing between generations. For the past thirty years, Vietnamese Family has not only been a press publication but also a quiet but persistent journey in preserving, honoring and spreading the core values of society: family is the cradle of happiness".
Over the past three decades, the Magazine has not only been a press forum but also a humane bridge with the community. Many meaningful programs have left their mark such as Family Memories - Lighting up the Future, Women overcoming Fate, or the writing contest "Father and daughter" ... attracting the participation of millions of readers across the country.
In parallel with professional activities, the Magazine also actively implements charity programs: relief for people in the Central region affected by storms and floods, building schools in mountainous areas in Son La, supporting poor children in many provinces, giving gratitude houses to disadvantaged families...
Speaking about the development orientation in the new period, journalist Ho Minh Chien, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine, said that the Magazine will promote the achieved tradition, constantly improve the quality of content and form, improve professional skills and build a team in the spirit of being streamlined, compact, strong and effective; Closely follow the principles of the purpose, put the magazine on track, in depth, specialized and dedicated, becoming a leading unit in the field and scope of operations according to the license prescribed by the press management agency.
