These days, the new house of Mr. Ly Van Minh (born 1998) and Ms. Ly Thi Nhung (born 2000) in Ta Cu Ty commune (old Bac Ha district) is becoming more bustling as many villagers come to visit.
Few people thought that just a few years ago, the young couple was still struggling to find directions for economic development.

Born and raised in a high mountainous area, Mr. Minh was soon familiar with the ancient Shan Tuyet tea hills - a tree considered the "green gold" of the locality. Realizing the potential of tea trees, in 2021, he and his wife began to learn how to process and trade Shan Tuyet tea products.
From the first batches of handmade tea, the couple both learned techniques and gradually completed the processing process to improve product quality.

Currently, Mr. Minh is the Director of Ta Cu Ty Agricultural Cooperative. Thanks to the efforts of his family and the support from the local government, the economic development model from Shan Tuyet tea has brought a stable income.
Thanks to that, the family has conditions to cover living expenses, take care of children and save to build their own home.

After a period of saving from selling tea, the couple bought a piece of land for about 400 million VND.
After that, from the continued income from tea processing and trading, the couple built a new spacious house with a total cost of about 800 million VND.
For a young family in the highlands, buying land and building a private house is an important milestone after many years of hard work.
Having a new spacious house, my husband and I have even more motivation to do business. At the same time, striving to help many other families also stabilize their lives and develop the economy," added the Director of Ta Cu Ty Agricultural Cooperative.

Ms. Ly Thi Nhung shared: "The new house is the result of the efforts of both husband and wife. Sometimes encountering difficulties and debts, we only know to encourage each other to continue to strive to rise up.
Besides economic development, Mr. and Mrs. Minh also actively mobilize people to protect and care for ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees. Harvesting is carried out according to proper techniques to maintain the quality of raw materials and develop the tea region sustainably.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ta Cu Ty commune - said that Shan Tuyet tea is one of the key crops of the locality. In recent years, the commune has encouraged people to link production and build tea brands to improve economic value.
In which, Ta Cu Ty Agricultural Cooperative, directed by Mr. Ly Van Minh, is a typical model of local youth boldly starting a business from agriculture.
The fact that Mr. Minh and his wife bought land and built a new house from the development of Shan Tuyet tea products is clear evidence of the economic efficiency of this specialty tree. This is also a motivation for many households to continue to stick with and develop tea trees in the locality," Ms. Nga excitedly said.
