1982 Hit Makes a Hot Return Thanks to Rose, Bruno Mars' "APT."

The success of Rose and Bruno Mars' "APT." made Yoon Soo Il's 1982 hit "Apartment" enter the MelOn chart for the first time.

According to Korean media, Yoon Soo Il's single "Apartment" ranked 951st on MelOn's daily (real-time) chart, marking the first time the song has entered the chart since MelOn's debut.

Analysts credited the success of Rose and Bruno Mars' "APT." for helping "Apartment" revive, bringing new interest to a song that is more than 40 years old.

Streams for "Apartment" have skyrocketed since Rose released "APT." on October 18, with daily listeners on Melon increasing by 122% compared to October 17. On another music site, Genie, streams for "Apartment" also spiked by 190% in the week following its release.

"Apartment" has been loved as a "national song" since its release in 1982 and is a popular song at soccer and baseball games. The song has also been remixed by artists such as Kim Gun Mo and DJ DOC and was most recently covered by Lim Young Woong at the Sangam Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Recently, several remix videos combining "Apartment" with "APT." have also begun to appear on YouTube, garnering enthusiastic responses across social media and online communities.

Yoon Soon Il himself expressed his joy during a call with Son Tae Jin on MBC Standard FM's Trot Radio on October 23. He praised Rose and Bruno Mars, saying, "It's great that their song is gaining attention and the same theme of 'apartment' (i.e. the same theme as the male singer's hit) on a global scale.

Although social trends and moods have changed a lot since 40 years ago, "APT." has a catchy, addictive melody, just like my song that held the top spot in noraebang (singing room) for ten years."

"APT." is proving to be successful not only in the global market but also in Korea, sweeping real-time and daily charts on platforms such as MelOn, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe and achieving a Perfect All-Kill (PAK).
