On April 4, it was reported that one of the parents of NewJeans member (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) opposed the lawsuit to request the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR Company. After that, news broke that Haerin's mother was the one who objected.
However, according to NewDaily's investigation, the real protester was Hyein's father (16 years old), and there was a civil dispute between the couple over Hyein's legal representative rights.
Chosun Ilbo previously reported: "At the first hearing session (day 3.4) of the main case, in order to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract submitted by Ador against the newjeans members, the judge asked" defendant 4 "in the Newjeans group:" Has the family court make decisions on guardians? Is all proceedings so far validated? ”.
Regarding this issue, Chosun Ilbo explained that currently, NewJeans has 2 members who are still minors, Hyein and Haerin. The parents of one of these two people have arisen disagreements about the exercise of custody when filing a lawsuit, and have even had to take it to the family court for settlement.
In the March trial on the temporary ban on NewJeans submitted by ADOR, the court also emphasized: It is necessary to clarify the issue of legal representation. Currently, there are shortcomings in the right to represent".
But on the trial on 3.4, there was a statement: "There was a decision on the implementation of the guardian rights, and the proof of valid confirmation". This shows that parents (parents) objected to restricted representation, and the lawsuit is continuing to conduct according to the opinion of the agreement.
There are speculation, "defendant No. 4" is Haerin, because based on the case file, "defendant 4" is brought to Kang and Haerin, the only one who has Kang in the group. In particular, because the "biological father" is listed as the legal representative of "defendant No. 4", but the "mother" is not listed, so there is speculation that the person who oppose the lawsuit is the mother of Haerin.
However, according to NewDaily's investigation, the person who really opposed the lawsuit was Hyein's father.

NewJeans, currently operating independently under the name "NJZ", has had a contract dispute with ADOR Company (under HYBE Group) since November last year.
According to NewDaily, it is unclear whether Hyein's father objected when the 5 members sent the notice of contract termination on November 29, 2024, but it seems that he initially agreed with the parents of the 4 remaining members.
However, for some reason, Hyein's father objected to the termination of the contract, and even led to a lawsuit with his wife over his daughter's legal representative rights.
In the March 14 trial of the lawsuit requesting an adjustment of custody filed by Hyein's mother against Hyein's father, the court sided with Hyein's mother. From now on, Hyein's biological mother will be Hyein's only legal representative in related lawsuits.
Meanwhile, the Instagram account of the NewJeans parents issued a statement denying the information that there was an internal conflict.
NewJeans parents emphasized: All 5 members maintain a clear stance that they cannot return to HYBE and this decision was made after a thorough discussion with each family.
Parents fully respect and support their children's decisions. Baseless rumors such as fighting families or members leaving the group are only intended to cause internal division.
Notably, they stated that the rumors surrounding Haerin members were completely untrue. Adjusting the right to custody according to the wishes of children at the age of majority is a matter of concern to another member, and in this case both the child and the mother have a firm view.
