BTS is likely to participate in Coachella 2027 as organizers are said to be actively negotiating to bring the group into the big music festival squad in the US. If the agreement is successful, this will be BTS's next notable international stage after returning with a full 7-member squad.
The possibility of BTS appearing at Coachella is of interest as the group is on a world tour "Arirang". According to the schedule currently announced, BTS will complete the final stage in Bulacan, Philippines on March 16, 2027. Coachella 2027 is expected to take place less than a month later, on the weekend of April 9-11, 2027 and April 16-18, 2027 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (USA).
The relatively favorable schedule makes the possibility of BTS participating in the festival noteworthy. However, the organizers have not announced the official lineup and BTS has not confirmed their participation.
Coachella is one of the biggest and most influential music festivals in the US, gathering many of the world's leading artists. Some names being mentioned that will participate in performing in 2027 include Tame Impala and Dua Lipa. SZA, Oasis and Radiohead are also expected to appear in the lineup with notable positions.
The connection between BTS and Goldenvoice, the organizer of Coachella, was previously noticed. In March, Paul Tollett, Chairman and CEO of Goldenvoice, was directly present in Seoul (Korea) to watch BTS's performance in Gwanghwamun Square. He was caught watching the event with Bang Si Hyuk, Chairman of HYBE.
Previously, HYBE had negotiated with AEG Presents about promoting BTS's world tour, and also proposed benefits related to Coachella. However, the two sides did not reach an agreement. Later, Live Nation took on the role of promoting BTS's world tour.
If confirmed to participate in Coachella, BTS will continue to operate on one of the biggest music stages in the world immediately after the tour ends. This is also an opportunity for the group to maintain their heat in the US market in the period of returning with a full squad.
Before BTS, BLACKPINK once made a milestone when they became the first K-pop group to hold the headliner position at Coachella in 2023. Therefore, BTS's appearance at the festival, if realized, will continue to attract attention to K-pop on the international music stage.
