Opportunities and challenges when entering business
The audience is used to her image on stage and screen, few people thought that a busy artist like her would choose to step into a harsh business. What made you decide to turn to the path of business, and where did that opportunity start?
- I think I inherited the business blood from my mother. My mother is a single mother, raising a child with one hand, so she sells everything: stewed cups, roasted peanuts, wet cakes, coffee... as long as she can sell, she sells. Thanks to that, I learned to be proactive and flexible from a young age. Later, when I went abroad, I saw many artists with their own brands, both to affirm their mark and to take care of their long-term lives. So around 2015 - 2016, I started to cherish my ideas and find a suitable business direction for myself.
A person who is used to stage lights and laughter will be surprised when entering a market with many strict rules. What is the biggest difficulty you have ever faced and how have you overcome it to go the long way?
My biggest difficulty in business is having to start over. Not only studying industry knowledge, but also learning how to let go of "iningative artist" to become a true businessman. I have been to each market, each agency, and sat and talked with customers to understand what they need. They are the teacher who teach me market lessons. The biggest difficulty is not capital, but learning to be modest, accepting to start from zero.

When she simultaneously shoulders both roles - one side is art that requires creativity, the other side is business that requires alertness, how can she avoid being "submerged" in a huge amount of work and keeping her balance?
- Actually, there is no such thing as balance. I just know how to do my best, until my body is tired. In business, there is a whole system, a corporation behind, but I still have to directly inspect and approve each stage. Another art, especially drama or film, requires practice and nurturing the character. Therefore, I only choose to live life to the fullest, relying on passion and good colleagues by my side, without any formula for balance.
In her artistic journey, she has been successful in both comedy and film. Some people say that the stage is more pressured because it has to be adapted directly, others say that films are difficult because they require emotional endurance. Which field do you personally find more challenging?
- Every step is stressful, but each step is different. On stage, the audience reacted immediately, I had to keep the rhythm, I had to release the music accurately. The film is a long way, every day it has to nurture the character's emotions. But it is also thanks to art that I relieve the stress from business. When I got into the role, I forgot all about business, leaving only the character. Art is my way of "saving the wing".
Defence of success
People often say that success in art is never flat. When facing failure - an unsatisfactory play, an unsuccessful film, how do you often look back at yourself?
- I always act with all my heart. Sometimes red eyes, bleeding knees right on stage. If I fail, I look back at the script, crew, and director to see where I went wrong. But I have never acted superficially. I am devoted to playing big or small roles. I believe I did my best, the rest is God's luck.
Her outlook on life is quite simple and modest, but she must have something to be proud of after a long journey. For you, what is the most precious thing?
- The most proud thing is that I have never been a professional boxer. But if we honestly say, personal efforts are only about 40%, the rest are "time - land - prosperity" and luck. The happiest thing is that the audience, colleagues, and even the juniors feel: Viet Huong always shows wholeheartedly.

To go the long way, artists need a solid rear. How important is family to you in this journey?
- Family is everything. I don't drink sugar, gamble, or party. When I'm tired, I think about my family. My parents have passed away, now I only have a husband and a child. I often joked: "I only have one husband, one child". Her husband - Mr. Hoai Phuong - is always behind to support her wholeheartedly. Daughters are obedient, good at studying, and have never worried me so much. My success is largely thanks to my family.
As a mother, how did you choose to accompany your child to be both an orientation and a true friend?
- There was a time when I was willing to give up work all year to go with my children.Wherever my child wants to go, what he studies, I am willing to spend 2-3 weeks taking him to Europe, the US or China.I want to be both a mother and a friend, so that I can trust and share.Even if he only draw a poster for me or plays a song when I'm nervous, I still find it a special bonding bond.
Can you share a little about the latest project that the audience is about to enjoy?
The movie "The Golden Department of the Foreign Ministry" with my participation will be released on October 15. In addition, I am performing on the Truong Hung Minh stage with the play "Roi 30 nam sau", and the play "Nha sus". I hope the audience will continue to support, so that we have more motivation to contribute.
