Da Nang - Dust arising during the dismantling of Chi Lang stadium is affecting the daily life and business of people in the surrounding area.

Over the past time, the dismantling of items inside Chi Lang stadium (Hai Chau ward, Da Nang city) has been implemented with many machines and motorized vehicles operating continuously. However, the construction process has generated a large amount of dust and soil, causing significant impact on the surrounding area.

On the streets surrounding Chi Lang stadium such as Hung Vuong, Ngo Gia Tu, Chi Lang..., soil dust from the construction site is spread out to the environment by the wind. At many times, dust covers the road surface, sticks to vehicles, and affects people's lives.

Notably, the Con market area (Chi Lang street) - one of the largest traditional markets in Da Nang, located not far from the construction site - is also affected by dust.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (name of the character has been changed), a business household in this area said that the demolition of the project affects his family's business and trading activities, he must regularly clean the stalls and cover food to limit dust.

Mr. Minh added that people do not object to the dismantling of Chi Lang stadium to serve city projects. However, he hopes that the construction unit will strengthen measures to reduce dust such as regularly spraying water, covering the demolition area and transporting materials in accordance with regulations to limit the impact on business and living activities of surrounding households.

Present at the scene on the afternoon of June 15, reporters noted that the construction unit had strengthened measures to limit dust during dismantling.

Many workers continuously spray water at the demolition area and material gathering locations to reduce the amount of dust released into the environment. Thanks to that, the situation of dust flying to streets and surrounding residential areas has decreased significantly compared to previous days.

Chi Lang Stadium is a land area of more than 55,000m2 in Hai Chau ward, Da Nang city.

After many years of legal obstacles related to mortgage and asset handling, the dismantling has been approved by the Da Nang Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, the result of selecting Thang Long Construction Mechanical Engineering Joint Stock Company to implement the package of demolition, dismantling and liquidation of assets at Chi Lang stadium with a price of more than 2.2 billion VND.
