No Other Choice tells the story of Man Soo (Lee Byung Hun) - an office worker - who felt completely satisfied with life until he was suddenly fired. Determined to protect his wife, two children and the house they had worked hard to build, he prepared for a personal battle to find a new job.
Son Ye Jin plays Mi Ri - Man Soo's wife - who becomes stronger during times of crisis. Mi Ri comforts her husband after he loses his job, instead of criticizing him and keeping the family together. She is a rational figure, not easily moved in all situations.
In this film, she collaborated with Lee Byung Hun for the first time, realistically portraying married life, promising to add depth and interest to the story.
Son Ye Jin shared: "Mi Ri is optimistic and always smiles. I approached this role by thinking about how Mi Ri would handle the situation.
Director Park Chan Wook praised the 1982-born beauty: Son Ye Jin is a professional actress, who knows how to express exactly what is needed.

No Other Choice is a work that marks Son Ye Jins comeback after 3 years, since the TV series Age 39 in 2022. After that project, she married actor Hyun Bin.
Especially after welcoming her first son in November 2022, Son Ye Jin stopped acting and participated in entertainment activities to retire to take care of her family.
In mid-2023, Son Ye Jin gradually returned to advertising but has not received a new film. Last August, she made a comeback on screen when she and Lee Byung Hun confirmed their participation in a project by director Park Chan Wook. "No Other Choice" is scheduled to hit theaters in September this year.
In addition, Netflix recently announced that Son Ye Jin and Jo Yuri will star in the platform's original series called "Variety".
The 43-year-old actress is expected to participate in Netflix's historical drama project " Scandals".
Fans eagerly await the return of "national first love" Son Ye Jin. Especially when beauties over the age of 40 such as Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun are also actively working on new film projects.
Before its release, "No Other Choice" was invited to attend the 82nd Venice International Film Festival as a work competing for the main category - the most prestigious category of the film festival and gathering nominations for top awards. This is the first Korean film to participate in the competition in 13 years, since Pieta in 2012.
Son Ye Jin expressed: I am very touched and honored to attend the Venice International Film Festival for the first time. I am very excited, feeling like a dream has come true".
