In 2009, Vo Hoang Yen did not make the Top 15. In 2011, Vu Hoang My; in 2012 Luu Thi Diem Huong; in 2013 Truong Thi May did not make it into the Top 16 most beautiful people.
Vietnam did not send beauties to Miss Universe 2014.
By 2015, Pham Huong was not in the Top 15, even though the beauty was previously predicted to be in the Top 15. In 2016, Le Hang missed the Top 13. In 2017, Nguyen Thi Loan was not named in the Top 16, only entered the Top 40.
For the 2 consecutive years 2022 and 2023, the Vietnamese representative was also absent from the rankings. In 2022, Ngoc Chau was not named in the Top 16. In 2023, Bui Quynh Hoa was not named in the Top 20.
The years Vietnam entered the Top of Miss Universe can be mentioned as 2018 being the year with the highest achievement in Vietnam's history when H'Hen Nie entered the Top 5 of Miss Universe.
In some years, the Vietnamese representative achieved other outstanding achievements such as 2008, Thuy Lam entered the Top 15.
In 2019, Hoang Thuy entered the Top 20. In 2020, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van entered the Top 21 of Miss Universe 2020 thanks to the high number of votes from the audience.
In 2021, Kim Duyen entered the Top 16. In 2024, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen entered the Top 30.
