Released as the second film in the horror universe (after "Ghost Dog"), "Linh Mieu - Ghost Enters the World" quickly attracted the curiosity of the audience.
As of the afternoon of November 28, the film surpassed the revenue mark of 54 billion VND.
On this occasion, the crew confided to the audience. “First of all, thank you to the audience. Whatever your opinion is after watching the film, to Luan, those are all very valuable opinions, worth considering to help us improve more in the next products” - director Luu Thanh Luan said.
Production and creative director Vo Thanh Hoa shared: “I know that everyone who makes a film focuses on revenue because revenue is like a factor that makes reinvestment in the next products more convenient. Therefore, the box office revenue race has never stopped being hot.
But for us, every achievement is precious, at least the message we wanted to convey, the story we wanted to tell about the harshness of male chauvinism has been spread, touching some people. Although this is a horror film, I have met many viewers who cried after watching it because they found sympathy for themselves. I believe this is the biggest victory of this film."
Producer Mai Bao Ngoc said that choosing content about folk legends is not the sole strength of the crew, especially when the image of demonic possession is also being strongly exploited in the domestic film market: "Demon possession or any topic related to legends or regional culture is part of the Vietnamese folklore treasure, it does not belong to our crew alone.
We just borrowed a folk ghost story as material to tell our perspective, our ideas about social ideologies, and incorporate messages that reach the audience."
With the current ticket sales frequency, "Linh Mieu" is being compared by the audience. Will the project achieve the same revenue success as "Quy Cau"?
When it was first released, "The Devil Dog" did not receive much attention from the audience. Then, the project unexpectedly attracted viewers. After leaving theaters, the film brought in 108 billion VND - according to Box Office Vietnam.
The success of "The Devil's Dog" also made the project the first Vietnamese horror film to gross over 100 billion VND.
At present, the movie "Linh Mieu" still holds the top spot at the Vietnamese box office with nearly 4,000 screenings per day. However, the movie's ticket sales rate is showing signs of cooling down. Reaching the 100 billion VND milestone is considered difficult for "Linh Mieu", because next December, there will be many projects released, including the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu".
