After 2 weeks of airing, "Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" has officially ended. The couple Ha Duy Phuong (Duong Tu) and Tuong Truong Duong (Ly Hien) have a happy ending after going through many difficulties and challenges.
Originally adapted from the novel "Quoc sac phuong hoa" by author Y Thien Trong, compared to the original, the ending of the film has many changes.
In the original novel, the main couple has two sons and a daughter. Some foreign book chapters depict the peaceful and happy family life of Ha Duy Phuong and Tuong Truong Duong.
However, when filming, this detail was completely cut. The main couple has no children but travel all over the world together. Tuong Truong Duong and his wife continued the paper business, and were the ones to convey the news to the emperor.

This change is said to emphasize Ha Duy Phuong's independence and strength but limits the affection of the main character couple. Throughout the film, viewers are easily confused and suffocated by many details of fighting for power instead of sweet love scenes.
In the film, the character Liu Suong was stabbed to death by a crazy sold-out soldier on the street. When Ly Au Trinh saw her lover die in front of her, in pain, and determined to commit suicide, a nay co stopped her and advised her to go to the temple to get medicine to wash her profession.
In the original, this character not only did not die but also bought a house next to the house of Ha Duy Phuong and Tuong Truong Duong. Witnessing the happy life of his ex-wife, Liu Yu became even more ashamed and regretful.
Fans believe that the film's screenwriter has built Liu Yu into a typical villain character to emphasize the message: bad guys certainly do not have a good ending. However, this unintentionally caused the character to lack depth, without the complex emotions of torn up like in the story.
Although the changes did not affect the film's content too much, fans still regret not being able to witness the family life of Ha Duy Phuong - Tuong Truong Duong after too many storms.

"Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" is rated lower than "Quoc sac Phuong Hoa" because the script is long, Duong Tu's acting does not create highlights. Although the rating (viewership rate) on Hunan TV was not very positive, the film still had high online views.
According to statistics on the Mango TV platform, the film ended with a total of 40 advertising brands, setting a record for a Chinese historical drama shown online. The film is top 1 in the average number of advertisements per episode, top 1 in the total number of advertising brands, bringing huge profits to the producer.
