Seohyun (Girls' Generation - SNSD) and Taecyeon (2PM) are both members of the second-generation Kpop group. When working together in the TV series The First Night With The Duke, they had a different perspective on each other.
First Night with the Prince is a fantasy romance drama, about an ordinary college student whose soul becomes a supporting character in a romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek (Seohyun).
After waking up in the world of the novel, she discovers that she has spent an overnight with the male lead of the novel, Prince Yi Beon (Taecyeon).
In an interview with Esquire Korea, when asked if Seohyun and Taecyeon were previously close, Seohyun replied: "We are like acquaintances who occasionally greet each other. When I was promoting on music shows, I was the youngest member in the group and spoke much less than I am now, so I had difficulty approaching other groups.
Taecyeon shared, "I've seen her face many times, so I feel familiar with her, but we've never really had a good conversation before."
When they worked together in a film, their impressions of each other changed.
She is completely different from the Seohyun I miss. She used to seem very quiet and shy, but now she is confident and strong, Taecyeon commented on Seohyun.
Seohyun also said, "Although we've never spoken directly, I've heard other SNSD members say he's a gentle and kind person. So I didn't worry at all before filming, I really look forward to it.
Taecyeon has a great source of energy. I think the audience will definitely feel that too. Even when he was not in front of the camera, he still took on the role and maintained his energy so that his co-stars could fully immerse himself in the scenes.
I especially admire the sincerity in his eyes. Although he has too much to focus on his acting, he also brings a great atmosphere to the studio, like someone who knows how to create an atmosphere. I am very grateful for that.
Taecyeon also praised Seohyun's acting: " Her character Cha Sun Chaek is very complicated and not easy to express, because she is the only character who travels through time from the modern world to the past.
I was curious to see how she would get into character after reading the original script and webtoon. But she has exceeded my expectations, which has impressed me.
When asked about the filming process, Taecyeon explained, "This is a historical drama, so the acting style needs to be more flexible than traditional historical dramas. Personally, I find the ancient language style easier in some ways.
Seohyun added: The interesting thing is that my character is not limited in traditional ancient costumes because she comes from the present.
On the other hand, we wore hanbok throughout filming. We film from fall to spring, so it's very cold, but the great thing is that you can wear many layers of thermal clothing inside the hanbok without anyone paying attention.
