Kpop girl group Baby Monster has just released the MV "Clik Clak" - one of two title tracks of the upcoming album "Drip".
Previously, executive producer Yang Hyun Suk aroused curiosity when introducing "Clik Clak" as a song in which all 7 Baby Monster members demonstrate their rapping ability.
As expected, “Clik Clak” is a powerful, engaging rap and hip-hop track. The group’s rappers, Ahyeon, Ruka, and Asa, all have the chance to showcase their talents. The other four members also show off their hip-hop chops very clearly. In particular, Rami has a smooth rap part that is no less than a real rapper.
The highlight of the MV is at the end, when "Clik Clak" is pushed to a climax with vibrant, trendy EDM (electronic) sounds. This segment caused a stir on social networks as soon as the MV was released.
Notably, the MV "Clik Clak" was made in black and white, filmed in a minimalist, old-school style with a street setting. This is completely different from the group's previous MVs using "boxed" settings such as "Batter Up", "Sheesh"...
But it has a surprising effect, the audience will focus more on the members' personalities, instead of paying attention to the colorful outfits they wear.
In online communities, Korean netizens are praising YG Entertainment for seemingly rediscovering its roots, bringing a sound and style reminiscent of the label's early years, defined by strong beats, confident styling, and hip-hop's signature energy.
On theqoo, viewers commented: “I've always liked Baby Monster, but I felt like 'This is it' when I watched their latest MV", "They found their roots again", "They are the powerhouse of Hip-hop", "This is YG's color", "The second half is amazing", "This group sings well and can also rap", "Rami's rap skills are really good", "YG is back"...
Baby Monster's album "Drip" will officially be released on November 1, 2024.
The album consists of 9 songs, including 7 new songs: "Clik Clak", "Drip", "Love, Maybe", "Really Like You", "Billionaire", "Love In My Heart", "Woke Up In Tokyo", and the previously released song "Forever", as well as a remix of the song "Batter Up".
G-Dragon participated in composing the double title track “Drip”.
