YG founder Yang Hyun Suk returned to the MAMA awards ceremony after 11 years for the two groups Baby Monster and Treasure.

On November 26, Korean media reported that Yang Hyun Suk - founder of YG Entertainment and currently the executive producer in the company - will attend the 2025 MAMA Awards, held on November 28-29 at Kai Tak Stadium (Hong Kong, China).

The last time Yang Hyun Suk attended this awards ceremony was 11 years ago, when YG Entertainment's Winner group won the "Best New Artist" award at MAMA in 2014.

In his acceptance speech, Winner thanked Yang Hyun Suk, creating a moment that once caused great emotion.

YG's producer's confirmation to attend this year's MAMA is attracting a lot of attention, because he has limited his public appearances in recent years.

Regarding the reason for returning to MAMA 2025, industry sources said that Yang Hyun Suk wants to appear to support the company's two groups Baby Monster and Treasure.

According to previously confirmed information, these two groups will join the lineup to perform at the awards ceremony on November 28. Therefore, Yang Hyun Suk plans to personally be present to cheer for the artists.

In addition, Kpop fans are also curious whether Yang Hyun Suk will attend the awards ceremony on November 29. Because this ceremony will have G-Dragon (Big Bang) - a former YG artist - performing.

Although he left the company, G-Dragon still maintains a good relationship with Yang Hyun Suk. Last October, audiences saw Big Bang leader and producer Yang chatting closely at 2NE1's concert.

MAMA Awards 2025 also announced a special stage, collaborating with Netflix's film project "Kpop Demon Hunters", featuring 3 members of Baby Monster: Pharita, Ahyeon and Rora. The trio will transform into the virtual music group Huntr/x in the film, recreating the story of the film through a large-scale performance.

Meanwhile, Baby Monster is currently expanding its global fan base and strengthening its reputation with the release of its second mini album "We go up". After that, the girl group met fans through a tour of 12 concerts in 6 cities in Asia.

Treasure continues to affirm its position as a leading performing group through the "Pulse on" tour, starting from October 2025 to May 2026.

Treasure's year-end schedule is also very busy, in addition to MAMA, YG's boy band also participated in performances at major events and festivals such as SBS Gayo Daejeon 2025, Japan Fuji TV FNS Music Festival 2025.

Since Yang Hyun Suk officially returned to the position of Executive Producer of YG in 2023, the company has made a strategic change: re-focusing on music quality, artist development and enhancing content. Thanks to that, YG has gradually regained its position in the entertainment industry, even reversing the financial situation.

However, recently, the duo AKMU (brothers Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Su Hyun) - one of YG's main artists - announced that they would not extend their contract. This has led to a decline in the number of YG affiliated artists, and the two most active groups at the moment are Baby Monster and Treasure.

YG and Yang Hyun Suk are speeding up plans to launch new groups to fill the void and strengthen the company's influence in the industry.
