Many good films premiered at the 2024 German Film Festival

    Many good films will be introduced to the Vietnamese public at the 2024 German Film Festival in Hanoi.

    It is known that the selected films to be screened are part of the German Film Festival (KinoFest 2024) event series held in Vietnam.

    KinoFest is the Goethe-Institut’s annual film festival in Southeast Asia dedicated to German contemporary cinema. After the success of the previous two festivals in 2022 and 2023, KinoFest 2024 will officially return to Vietnam in October.

    After a careful selection process, the themes at this year's film festival will range from psychology, family, to adventure, science or authentic documentaries.

    According to Mr. Oliver Brandt - Director of Institute Goeth - Institut Hanoi, KinoFest 2024 will bring to Vietnamese audiences films with diverse forms, reflecting the reality of many social issues taking place in Germany. Especially there will be works for families and children.

    Coming to Hanoi, the film festival will open at 6:30 p.m. on October 10 with a notable film called "The Teacher's Room". The work has received many nominations and wins at prestigious awards in Germany, Europe and America, including the 2024 Oscar nomination for the category "Best International Film".

    In addition, the work "The Theory of Everything" released in 2023, is a suspenseful thriller about quantum mechanics, filmed in fascinating black and white footage.

    "Love and Fear" is a documentary that delves into the tragedies that span three generations of a family. The scarred lives that both mother and daughter can experience.

    "Curious Tobi and the Adventure of the Flying Rivers" has brought another exciting adventure of Tobi to new lands. The film also brings beautiful footage, depicting the majestic beauty, from Son Doong Cave, Lan Ha Bay of Vietnam to the Amazon forest in Brazil...

    The animated film "The Adventure" tells the story of two sisters Kyona and Adriel's journey to escape and find their family. Director Florence Miailhe skillfully combined hand-painted paintings on glass to create a meaningful work for both young and adult audiences...

    The films will be introduced to Vietnamese audiences one by one, starting from October 10 at the National Cinema Center (NCC) - Hanoi.

    Besides, KinoFest 2024 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Binh Duong, Da Lat, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Can Tho... in October and November.
