According to Korean media, despite gathering a cast of all-star artists, tvN's reality TV show "Perfect Glow" still recorded disappointing ratings. The show opened with a rating of 1.1% in episode 1 and dropped to only 0.8% in episode 2.
Perfect Glow follows leading Korean makeup and barber experts when they opened a Korean-stylesalon in Manhattan, New York (USA), to introduce the quintessence of Korean beauty to the world.
Producer Kim Sang Ah explained that the show's idea originated from curiosity about whether the global K-content wave could expand to K-beauty. New York was chosen because it is a place of cultural exchange and different beauty trends.
The program has the participation of many famous artists. Actress Ra Mi Ran plays the salon director, actress Park Min Young is the coordinator, and actor Joo Jong Hyuk is the manager.
Ra Mi Ran admitted that she was initially quite hesitant about participating in a beauty-themed program, not sure why she was invited, but then decided to try her hand.
Park Min Young also shared similar doubts about his role. While Joo Jong Hyuk humorously said that he was simply very happy that someone was thinking of him, and revealed that Park Min Young was the one who introduced him to the shows producer.
Some famous figures in the beauty industry such as Cha Hong, LeoJ and PONY also attended, raising the audience's expectations.
However, despite being praised for her efforts to promote K-beauty internationally, the low rating of Perfect Glow has made many people question the shows long-term appeal.
With a total of 10 episodes, expected to end in January 2026, the audience thought that the show would have a hard time improving ratings when the first episodes had not been able to attract much attention.
Other audiences discussed actress Park Min Young, saying that her personal appeal had declined was one of the reasons why Perfect Glow was not noticed as expected.
The drama Confidence Queen starring Park Min Young aired in September only achieved a rating of 1.7%.
Once known as one of the "rating queens" of the Korean screen with a series of hit works such as "Love Story in Sungkyunkwan", "City Hunting", "How's it going for Secretary Kim", the decline in Park Min Young's new films has shocked.

In particular, the actress's recent beauty has also been a controversial topic. Park Min Young caused concern when appearing at events with an alarmingly thin figure. Her face was stiff and strange.
Some opinions said that Park Min Young caused controversy about her appearance but participated in a beauty program that did not arouse curiosity and interest in the audience.
The fact that Park Min Young has consecutive failed projects from TV series to reality shows has made fans worried about her career.
