On November 13, former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin issued an official statement in response to NewJeans' decision to return to ADOR after losing a lawsuit over a exclusive contract dispute.
Min Hee Jin wrote: The decision to return to ADOR of the NewJeans members was made after much thought and consideration. Therefore, I respect and support their choice. Despite the difficulties, I appreciate the bravery of the members when they finally decided to hold hands to protect each other.
The former CEO added: I can start over anywhere, anytime. But NewJeans must be protected and must keep the 5-member lineup. I hope they will become stronger and more determined as NewJeans, and above all, I wish all 5 members happiness.
Min Hee Jin also mentioned the lawsuit between herself and HYBE: Due to the overlapping of many lawsuits, the past time has been really difficult for all of us. However, the dispute between me and HYBE Labels is completely unrelated to NewJeans. I am trying my best as a personal member and hope the truth will be clarified."
Previously, on November 12, ADOR (under HYBE Group) announced that: NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein expressed their desire to continue activities with ADOR. The company is ready to create conditions for them to return to operation.
Immediately after that, the remaining 3 members - Minji, Hanni and Danielle - also made a statement through the media, expressing their intention to return to ADOR. But the company insists that the return of the three members is not yet officially agreed upon.
There are currently many opposing opinions in the Korean public about ADOR letting NewJeans members return to activities. In particular, in the case of Minji, Hanni and Danielle, they only unilaterally announced their comeback even though the company had not yet approved them.
The audience believes that the NewJeans members must issue an official apology to the groups (ILLIT, LE SSERAFIM...) and the company's employees affected by their lawsuit.
The court declared NewJeans defeated in the contract dispute with ADOR company on October 30. The exclusive contract between ADOR and NewJeans signed in 2022 is still valid until 2029.
Immediately after the first instance trial, NewJeans said they would appeal. The members have previously affirmed that they will not return to ADOR if Min Hee Jin is not reinstated as CEO.
But now this 5-member girl group has changed their decision, wanting to continue operating under the management of ADOR.
