On October 5, Money Today reported that some KakaoTalk messages are believed to be from Kim Soo Hyun and the late actor Kim Sae Ron, released by the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, and are fake, compile-made products.
Kim Sae Ron's family, through the Garosero channel (headed by Kim Se Ui), revealed these messages in March. According to the time displayed in the message (April 2, 2018), Kim Sae Ron was a second-year high school student at the time, 17 years old.
The late actress and Kim Se Ui's family relied on these messages to accuse Kim Soo Hyun of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, from 2015 to 2021.
However, according to an investigation by Money Today, on April 2, 2018, when Kim Soo Hyun was said to have texted Kim Sae Ron, the actor was actually in the military unit and not on leave.
In the message, Kim Soo Hyun is said to miss Kim Sae Ron and the two who were scheduled to meet on April 5, 2018.
But in Kim Soo Hyun's military diary, the actor underwent a training course on the battlefield at his unit from February 2 to April 6, 2018
In addition, on April 6, 2018, Kim Soo Hyun wrote: "I am looking forward to my day off." This proves that Kim Soo Hyun is not on leave on April 5 and can not meet Kim Sae Ron.
Lawyer Ko Sang Rok - legal representative of Kim Soo Hyun - said that he had discovered contradictions in the accusations of the late actor's family and the Garosero Research Institute.
The lawyer claimed that the screenshots of these messages were forged by using Kim Sae Ron's messages to another man, then attributed them to Kim Soo Hyun.
Just check his military leave documents to prove that those messages were not sent by him. We can completely reject all allegations from the Garosero Research Institute, the lawyer added.
In addition, Money Today pointed out that Kim Soo Hyun's military diary often mentioned his real ex-girlfriend and clearly expressed his love for her. But there is not a single line mentioning Kim Sae Ron.
Previously, lawyer Ko Sang Rok said that during his military service, Kim Soo Hyun only sent Kim Sae Ron one letter when she was in grade 12, and there was no love factor like the hundreds of letters he sent to his real girlfriend.
The lawyer emphasized that this cannot be considered evidence of Kim Soo Hyun's "multiple years of psychological manipulation and exploitation of children" as Garosero claimed.
Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative clarified that the photos published by Garosero, which are evidence that Kim Soo Hyun is dating minors, were all taken during the time the two dated from December 2019 to spring 2020, when Kim Sae Ron was an adult.
Lawyer Ko Sang Rok also questioned Garosero's words that after the presidential election (June 3, 2025), they will "publish thousands of photos" accusing the actor of dating minors. But now, after 4 months, there are no more photos, because they do not exist at all.
