On the afternoon of December 3, the film crew of "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" had a premiere for the media. Afterwards, the artists had a meeting with the press.
As the main actor in the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu", Song Luan said that after accepting the invitation from director Ly Minh Thang for the role of Cong Tu Bac Lieu, he carefully studied how to get into character.
The biggest challenge for Song Luan is his appearance, because the character has a tanned appearance, and his skin is quite light.
In the early days, he sunbathed but the results were not as expected, his skin tone was uneven, not achieving the required tan. After that, the director used professional tanning methods. He turned down many other projects because he had to maintain his appearance throughout the filming.
At the press conference, Lao Dong Newspaper reporter asked Song Luan about "pressure on revenue when no longer cooperating with Ly Hai and Tran Thanh", the actor said he was not under pressure.
Song Luan added that in each role, he tried his best and completed his roles. The same goes for the collaboration with Ly Hai or Tran Thanh, so the actor has nothing to regret.
The film "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" was inspired by the legend of the Bac Lieu prince, nicknamed Black prince, whose real name was Tran Trinh Huy (1900-1974). One of the famous stories about him was the competition of cooking sweet soup with paper money with Bach prince (Le Cong Phuoc) to win the heart of the beautiful Ba Tra (Tran Ngoc Tra). The amount of money Mr. Huy spent was estimated to be enough to buy dozens of tons of rice at that time. In the end, his opponent's pot of sweet soup boiled first, and he lost.
Director Ly Minh Thang nurtured the project for three years, spending 10 revisions before completing the script. The crew had difficulty writing the script about the character's debauchery and extravagance. According to the director, if not done properly, the film could easily make the audience have an unfavorable view of the main character. The screenwriter created many new details, delving into the hidden corners behind Ba Hon's all-night parties, thereby helping the audience sympathize more with the character's growth process.
