At the event, Song Luan revealed his process of learning French to play the main role in this project. Notably, he also showed off his French translation skills.
In response to media questions about the information that he acted in the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" thanks to his relationship with the crew, without going through casting, Song Luan denied this.
Song Luan added that before that, he was only invited to play the main role in the movie "Nha Ba Nu" by director Tran Thanh. Other movies, including "Cong Tu Bac Lieu", also had to go through casting.
When the movie "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" started a few years ago, he was invited to participate in the casting but had no luck. A year later, Song Luan was invited to participate in the casting again; then he played the main role of Ba Hon (Cong Tu Bac Lieu).
It is known that Song Luan learned French quickly. He recorded the voice of his French teacher and practiced pronunciation every day, even while cooking and driving. He also tanned his skin to get the appearance of the character.
Ba Hon, also known as the young master of Bac Lieu - Song Luan's role is a famous character "the world's number one playboy" with a super rich family background, always making others remember him with his trademark saying: "I want wherever the young master of Bac Lieu goes, there must be happiness there".
Ba Hon's life is associated with many interesting and thrilling stories such as burning money to cook sweet soup, beauty pageants, buying luxury planes and "money-wasting" competitions with the young master Tu Phat of My Tho.
Despite living in luxury, Ba Hon also has his own worries in the conflicted relationship with his father - Councilor Linh. The conflict between father and son reflects the profound cultural changes in the period of East-West exchange, and at the same time opens up Ba Hon's journey of self-discovery.
